David McCants, Lead Minister

David and Bonnie met while they were students at Roanoke Bible College. David graduated from RBC with a degree in Bible while Bonnie finished her degree in History at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The two were married in June 1996.

Ella and Jane were born in Newport News, VA in January of 2004 amidst snow flurries on the Virginia Peninsula.

David worked with three different churches in Virginia over the past 17 years before answering the call to move to New Bern in 2009 and start Two Rivers Church of Christ. He is passionate about seeing people come to know who God is and His plan for their lives. David's desire is to follow God and help Him build a community of believers in Craven County, NC.

Greg Coverdale, Associate Minister

Greg and Katie were married in May of 2001. They met while working Senior High Week at Tidewater Christian Service Camp (Camp Rudolph), and they both attended Roanoke Bible College. Katie graduated in 2001 with a degree in Elementary Education and Counseling, and continued teaching kindergarten while Greg finished his degree in Youth Ministry, finally graduating in May 2002.

After graduation, Greg and Katie moved back to Yorktown, Virginia to join the work being done at Northhampton Church of Christ in Hampton. While Greg worked with the youth of Northhampton, Katie taught first grade and kindergarten. They welcomed Gracie into their family following Katie's fourth year of teaching kindergarten. When Katie returned, she taught one year of second grade until they welcomed Claire into their family.

Greg and his family have recently moved to New Bern and are very excited to be apart of the ministry at Two Rivers Church. Greg's genuine love of people helps him build relationships that will lead others to a true relationship with Christ.

Jeanine Abernathy, Children's Director

Jeanine grew up in Idaho and married her high school sweetheart Chris in October 2008. After Chris joined the Marine Corps the young married couple was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point where Jeanine began attending Two Rivers Church while Chris was deployed. Jeanine quickly got involved volunteering with Two Rivers Kids and when an opening for leading this ministry came up, she was a natural choice to take on the role.

Jeanine has a great heart and genuine desire to see kids come to know Christ. Her passion and enthusiasm makes her loved by Two Rivers Kids and their parents.

Krystal Strawderman, Missionary in Residence

Krystal served as Two Rivers Children's director from 2009-2011, but her heart has always been for mission work. In January 2011 Krystal left New Bern to study at Pioneer Bible Translators in Dallas, Texas. She will be joining a team who will be moving to Indonesia to start a mission outreach with the Indonesian people sometime in the spring of 2012. When Krystal is not training or overseas she considers Two Rivers her "home base" and we consider her "our" missionary. We are delighted to have Krystal help keep our focus on reaching the entire world with the message of Christ. As a church we support Krystal and her desire to serve God in this way both financially and through prayer and guidance.
